SB 327 Passes Senate Vote 30-0
On April 11 the Senate votes 30 to 0 in favor of SB327, which will fix the Recreation Immunity Statue and allow the bridge to open back up. Now it moves to the house. Write your local House of Representative asking them to support SB327. A short, quick email is all you need to do. Here is a map to find your Representative. https://www.oregonlegislature.gov/findyourlegislator/leg-districts.html
DO NOT write to Walden, Bonamici, DeFazio, Blumenauer or Schrader. They are National Reps in Washington DC and do not vote on the State Bills.
Recreation Immunity Statute reviewed by the Oregon Senate.
The Oregon Senate Committee passed SB327, on Thursday, April 6, which provides Recreation Immunity to volunteers and employees. This will restore the Recreation Immunity Statute to what it was before the Portland Lawsuit. Next, this bill needs to pass the Senate Floor Vote.
You can help by sending a letter to your State Senator for the district you live in. https://www.oregonlegislature.gov/findyourlegislator/leg-districts.html
Do not write to Jeff Merkley or Ron Wyden because they are US Senators and do not vote at the state level.
Make your letter simple and to the point. Encourage them to vote for SB 327 to restore recreation immunity. This impacts ALL FREE OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES in Oregon. The bridge is just the first to close. Mountain biking, hiking, playgrounds, private timberland are all in jeopardy of closing.
